Program

The Top of the Table Annual Meeting offers attendees programming in different session formats.

All member attendees and guests gather to hear presentations on topics that appeal to everyone in the audience. Subjects include business best practices ideas, motivation, innovation, inspiration, economic overviews, technology and Whole Person.

These 45-minute sessions are more technical in nature and offer educational content to help you stay on top of your game, professionally and personally. They are open to all attendees and cover a variety of topics that give you the opportunity to customize your schedule and choose sessions most relevant to you. Focus Sessions encompass different presentation formats to keep you engaged: The Member Spotlight offers two Top of the Table members who share their insights in fast-paced, friendly debate style format; Open Sessions create an environment for brainstorming and sharing best industry practices in a relaxed conversation style setting; and Deeper Dive sessions deliver bonus content from the outstanding Main Platform speakers.  For 2022, we welcome back the popular Entrepreneurial Series Sessions that focus on the unique needs and challenges of entrepreneurs, from a panel of successful Top of the Table members to sessions that pair industry experts with a Top of the Table member who discuss how they have used services in their business.

There is something for everyone in these sessions! Even if you don't consider yourself an entrepreneur, you will find value and take-a-ways from the information presented.

Top of the Table members only.
Registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Register early, as it is possible for the Top of the Table Annual Meeting to reach capacity prior to the registration deadline.

The meeting registration fee covers the programming cost and planned food functions for members and their guests. There is no additional registration fee for guests. If your guest is a Top of the Table member, policy dictates that they must pay the full member registration fee. Top of the Table members may only register one guest. Although there is no additional fee, guest information must be included at the time of registration.

A guest is defined as a spouse, significant other or child over the age of 21, and guest registration is limited to one per member. Please note that Top of the Table members are not considered guests. Policy dictates that all Top of the Table members must pay the full member registration fee.

2022 CANCELLATION /REFUND DATES

Cancellations postmarked by the post office or received by email at tot@mdrt.org on or before September 18, 2022, will receive a full refund, less a USD 100 administrative fee.

Cancellations postmarked by the post office or received by fax between September 19 and October 3, 2022, will receive a 50% refund, less a USD 100 administrative fee.

Cancellations postmarked by the post office or received by fax after October 4, 2022, will not receive a refund.

Health and Safety Protocols

MDRT considers the safety of our members our top priority and will continue to follow guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to host an in-person event that is safe for all in attendance. Therefore, adherence to health and safety protocols will be mandatory.

*If you are paying for all (40) in advance, you can decide the cutoff date for signing up. I would suggest making it early so people are encouraged to reserve their space. Perhaps you do not share the minimum but put “space is limited” so they book sooner than later. We will use your deposit to reserve the spaces on the tour accordingly. Same goes for all activities. If it is looking like you need more than (40) spots, I can see if this is possible with the Garden.

Madame Ganna Walska
A well-known Polish opera singer and socialite purchased this Montecito, California estate in 1941 and spent the next 43 years creating Lotusland, one of the ten best gardens in the world. Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of Lotusland which includes both horticultural and historical information.

Santa Barbara Wine Tour

If you need more than (50) spots I can reach out to additional wine tour partners to facilitate. Vehicle size will vary based on how many guests have selected this activity, the max capacity of the wineries we select for each group etc.

On this 5-hour private wine tour, you’ll be picked up in a luxury vehicle driven by your guide for the day. Your guide will escort you through rolling hills lined with lush vineyards to visit 2 wineries chosen specially to meet your wine tastes and expectations. Once there, you will enjoy some of the finest wines that California has to offer while learning about the region and the wine-making process. You’ll then have a delicious picnic lunch overlooking a picturesque vineyard while sipping wine with your companions.

Shotgun start, best ball tournament

Designed by William F. Bell and opened in 1972, the championship golf course at Sandpiper has been rated by Golf Digest as one of the top 25 public golf courses in the nation. Its beautiful rolling fairways and challenging greens in a seaside links style layout attracts players of all skill levels and has hosted several professional tournaments, such as the PGA Tour Tournament Players Series, the LPGA Tour Santa Barbara Women’s Open and the prestigious final stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying school.

USD 190 per person (includes green fees, golf cart, breakfast, lunch and unlimited balls at the driving range)

Clubs are available to rent at an additional cost of USD 85.Rentals include two sleeves of Titleist golf balls.

Is this your first Top of the Table Annual Meeting? At this orientation reception, first-time attendees and guests will mingle with other members, including Top of the Table Advisory Board and committee members, to help acclimate everyone to the meeting and all it has to offer.

The Welcome Event allows members and their guests the opportunity to get acquainted with fellow attendees before the meeting begins. This year, attendees will enjoy an evening on the grounds of The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara. Casual attire is recommended, as this is an outdoor event.

Begin your day with a hot breakfast buffet, coffee and plenty of opportunity to network with your peers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Thursday and Friday, continue the conversation over a luncheon buffet.

The evening is free for you to enjoy the resort, friends and Santa Barbara.Dinner options are available via the hotel concierge. You may also stop by the Restaurant Reservations Booth located in the Registration area on Wednesday and Thursday.

After an evening out, return to the hotel to end the night with casual coffee, after- dinner drinks and dessert with fellow attendees.

Friday, October 21

Enjoy a wonderful evening of good food, camaraderie and music. Begin dinner with quiet music and great conversation and later you can dance the night away.
Attire for this event is semiformal. Men will be comfortable in a sports coat or suit and ladies in cocktail attire.

End a long day of learning with some rest and relaxation outside. The Daily Debrief is a time for members to connect after attending Thursday and Friday sessions and share ideas they heard that day. Members may also get the opportunity to network with some speakers from the day!

2022 Top of the Table Charity Partner: Days for Girls

On Main Platform, you’ll hear how a trip to assist an orphanage in Kenya inspired Celeste Mergens to develop this social enterprise. You’ll also have the opportunity to volunteer with Days for Girls by assembling kits that will be sent around the world.
