Through farming and hands-on education, Hawai’i Institute of Pacific Agriculture (HIP Agriculture) takes a regenerative approach to land stewardship that honors indigenous wisdom, local food sovereignty, and the transformational power of giving back to the Earth. Located in beautiful and historic North Kohala, HIP Agriculture operates a nonprofit sustainable farm that cultivates traditional Polynesian crops and provides nourishment to the local community.

Volunteers will build trails, help remove invasive species that threaten the farm’s productivity, plant fruit-bearing trees to increase food security for the local community and plant ecological river system buffer plants to control erosion.  Additionally, volunteers will enjoy learning from HIP Agriculture founders, Dash and Erika Kuhr. Dash will lead efforts on the farm, and Erika, a trained chef, will engage volunteers with a cooking lesson to help prepare the group meal.
